The interdependency of body, image and device is the essential element of Roman Hagenbrocks visual works for theater and film. The protagonists range from reenacted pop stars to technological devices, the erotic, temples, spiritual origins and the blurry boundary of fact and fiction.

In collaboration with the artistic collective copy & waste he – as video artist – has been creating trans-media theatre pieces and performances, always dealing with the change of cities in the 21st century, with the blurring boundaries between fact and fiction.1

His works were shown at several festivals, e.g. Bamberger Kurzfilmtage, Steirischer Herbst Graz, Leiden Int. Filmfestival, Immersion - Berliner Festspiele.

In 2016 he was Artist-in-Residence of the Goethe-Institut China, Beijing. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
